In 2012 the new album "Gabriela Mendes - Um renovo musical" is launched. It has been conceived, designed and directed by Amandio Cabral, known since the 60s for his deep and melancholic mornas; the famous Cape Verdean composer called Gabriela Mendes to interpret his songs.
Recorded in the studios Fantasy in Berkeley (California) the disc includes twelve songs, all composed by Amandio Cabral with the arrangements by pianist Larry Dunlap:

The recordings have been made with the participation of the Quartet San Francisco (two Grammy nominations), who also accompanied Gabriela during her performance at the famous Yoshi's Jazz Club in San Francisco.
